Thurrock students win D-Day art competition

THE results for the D-Day 80 Art Competition winners are finally in!

With over 150 submissions it was a tough call, but 3 winners stood out.

Chosen for their outstanding artworks, congratulations to:

Jessica, aged 6, from Stanford-le-Hope Primary School, who won the Historians’ Award
Naomi, aged 8, from St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary School, who won the Veterans’ Award
Lily, aged 12, from Ortu Gable Hall School, who won the Mayor’s Award
Their artworks will feature in a D-Day Exhibition – part of Thurrock’s D-Day 80th anniversary commemorations – at the Thameside Complex in Orsett Road, Grays from Saturday 25 May to Thursday 27 June.

Thank you to everyone who entered the competition, paying their respects to the ingenuity and bravery of our troops, which ultimately led to victory in World War II.

All artworks submitted for the D-Day 80 competition will be featured in a special album at Thameside Theatre from the 25 May, so be sure to keep an eye out for your artwork.
