Bolstered senior leadership team at Ormiston Park Academy confirmed

ORMISTON Park Academy has today confirmed it has bolstered its senior leadership team, setting the school up for success in the months to come.

Over the last three months the academy, part of Ormiston Academies Trust, has established a partnership with St Edward’s Church of England Academy in Romford, a member of the Unity Schools Partnership.

Following interim leadership arrangements between the two schools, Ormiston Park Academy has confirmed today that Jodie Hassan, who has been overseeing the academy in an interim Executive Principal role, will now take up this position permanently. This is in addition to continuing to oversee St Edward’s.

Munira Said, who has also been supporting the academy since February, has now been appointed as the substantive Principal at Ormiston Park. Munira has significant experience leading schools, having also joined from St Edward’s, and will be building on the work to date to support the academy to go from strength to strength.

Humayun Rashid, who has led the academy very well during the transition period to appoint a substantive principal, will return to his role of Vice Principal where he will continue to work closely with staff, students, and families.

The beneficial partnership between both academies will continue, sharing best practice and resources to ensure that both schools are offering the best educational opportunities to students and the community alike.

Jodie Hassan, Executive Principal, Ormiston Park Academy, said:

“I am thrilled to be taking on the permanent role of Executive Principal for Ormiston Park and St Edward’s – two schools which are deeply rooted in local community with high ambitions for students and what they can achieve.

“I look forward to continuing to work closely with Munira, who will do an excellent job as Principal, Humayun and the wider senior leadership team at Park in what will be a very positive new chapter for the academy.”

Munira Said, Principal at Ormiston Park Academy, said:

“It has been excellent to have the opportunity to work closely with students, staff, and families at Ormiston Park Academy over the last term, so I’m delighted to now be leading the academy in a permanent role so we can build further on the positive steps made to date together.”

Tom Rees, Chief Executive, Ormiston Academies Trust, said:

“We are delighted to have confirmed our enhanced senior leadership team at Ormiston Park Academy which will be excellently led by Jodie, Munira, Humayun and wider colleagues, building on the partnership the academy has with St Edward’s, and that Ormiston has with Unity.
“We have high expectations and ambitions for Ormiston Park Academy and the standard of educational opportunities that it provides to students and the wider community alike. We look forward to continuing to work closely with the academy in this new phase.”
