TEN Amazon employees at the Tilbury fulfilment centre have packed and donated 200 kits
of items worth £1,000 for a charity that supports people impacted by poverty.

The kits, which contain a water bottle, chalk, frisbee, kite with colouring pens to design the kite, magnifying glass and colourful plasters, were donated
to In Kind Direct. In Kind Direct is a UK charity who support over 520,000 people each week across the UK with products they need to keep clean and well.

One of the 10 employees from Amazon in Tilbury who took part in the packing event is Viorica C. She said:

“In Kind Direct is an amazing organisation and I’m proud to have come together with my colleagues to support them. I enjoyed packing the kits and I’m happy
knowing the items we included will benefit children and families who need them most and make a real difference across Tilbury.”

Omer Kartal, General Manager at the Amazon fulfilment centre in Tilbury, added:

“In Kind Direct is an incredible organisation, providing essential items and equipment for their network of charitable organisations across the UK. We are
pleased to provide this donation which we hope will alleviate some stress for people in need.”

Kaitlin Marian, Corporate Partnerships Manager from In Kind Direct, said:

“The cost-of-living crisis means many more people are struggling to make ends meet and unfortunately toys and games go to the bottom of the list when essentials
take priority. These kits will go straight to organisations in our network to ensure children have the products they need to have fun and enjoy the summer holidays. Thank you to the Amazon team in Tilbury for their contribution.”

Community donations and employee volunteering are just two of the ways Amazon supports the communities where it operates. Amazon co-founded the Multibank
initiative with former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown to support families in need. The initiative has donated more than 4 million surplus goods to over 400,000 families across Scotland, Wales, Greater Manchester, and London.

Amazon has supported more than 700,000 students across the UK with free STEM education programmes through
Amazon Future Engineer
and helps community organisations transport meals and other essentials to families in need through its pro bono logistics programme, Amazon Local Good.

Amazon partners with Comic Relief and is the official home of the charity’s iconic Red Nose. Together with its employees, customers, and partners, Amazon
has raised over £4.8 million to fund projects that support people across the UK, and around the world.
