THE Amazon fulfilment centre in Tilbury has donated £2,000 to a trust supporting special educational needs learning in Essex.
Treetops Learning Community support students across two schools – Treetops School and The Free School.
The donation from Amazon will be used to purchase laptops for Treetops School’s science department and provide much-needed materials and equipment for the design and technology and food technology departments.

Spencer Aldous, an Amazon employee who nominated Treetops for donation said:
“I’m thrilled that our donation is supporting such a worthy cause. I’m looking forward to seeing the impact it will have in the Treetops Learning Community students’ learning.”
Omer Kartal, General Manager at Amazon in Tilbury, added:
“At Amazon, we are committed to supporting educational institutions, especially those like Treetops Learning Community which are focused on helping students with special educational needs. We hope this donation will enhance the learning experience of the students and give them the tools they need to succeed.”
Vittoria Churchman from Treetops Learning Community, said:
“We are thankful to Amazon for their donation and the impact it will have on our schools. The funding will make a difference to our students’ learning experiences, particularly in science, design and technology, and food technology. These areas are vital for developing practical skills and confidence, and we’re pleased that we can now provide better resources and learning opportunities.”
Community donations and employee volunteering are just two of the ways Amazon supports the communities where it operates. Amazon co-founded the Multibank initiative with former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown to support families in need. ‘Brick-by-Brick’ Multibank opened in Wigan in 2023, with The Brick. The Multibank network has donated more than 3 million surplus goods to over 400,000 families across Greater Manchester, Scotland, Wales, and London.
Amazon has supported more than 700,000 students across the UK with free STEM education programmes through Amazon Future Engineer and helps community organisations transport meals and other essentials to families in need through its pro bono logistics programme, Amazon Local Good.
Amazon partners with Comic Relief and is the official home of the charity’s iconic Red Nose. Together with its employees, customers, and partners, Amazon has raised over £4.8 million to fund projects that support people across the UK, and around the world.

What a brilliant cause.
Thank you Amazon for your generous donation .
