MEMBERS OF Reform Uk are angry over the date of the by-election in Ockendon.
Reform councillor Alex Anderson said: “Labour’s Councillor in Ockendon resigned in early January because he didn’t want to carry on representing the GREAT people of Ockendon.
“A by-election could’ve and should’ve been called for March, instead the Council are calling it for May. This means that come election day the beautiful town of Ockendon will have been without a third of their representation for just short of four months – UNACCEPTABLE.
“There are now rumours a second Ockendon Councillor is about to cut and run. However many of their representatives quit on them, Reform stands ready with high-quality candidates desperate to fight for the town.
“The people of Ockendon love Reform and Reform love the people of Ockendon!“
