Swimming: Thurrock impress at Essex and East Region Open Water Championships

SWIMMERS from Thurrock Swimming Club participated in this years County & Regional Open Water Championships held in Norwich.  The swimmers who train at Blackshots with their partner Impulse Leisure had phenomenal success.  Many County and Regional medals were gained and Danny Thompson qualified for this years National Open Water Championships.

In the 1km event Esme Parkes (11-12) 1^st in Essex & 2^nd in the Region , Poppy Ellingford (11-12) 3rd in Essex 6^th in the Region, Iona Parkes 5th in Essex 9^th in the region, Leah Orolugbagbe (11-12) 10^th in Essex,  Hollie Goldsmith (13-14) finished 3rd in Essex 5^th in the region, and Heidi Parkes (13-14) 5^th in Essex & 9^th in the region, Alexandrina Kukurudza (13-14) finished 7^th in Essex, David Hoara (11-12) 2nd in Essex and 3^rd in the Region, George Ward (11-12) 3^rd in Essex and 5^th in the region, Bogdan Yermakovich (13-14) 2^nd in Essex and the region.  In the 2km event, Sophie Bilham 2^nd in Essex 7^th Region, Lily Franks finished 3^rd in Essex, Adam Thompson 1^st in Essex and 9^th Region, Eoghan 2^nd Essex, 9^th Region, Samuel Allen 3^rd in Region 1^st in Essex. In the 3km swim, Vladut Dragomir finished 3^rd in the Region and 2^nd in Essex. In the 5km race, Danny Thompson finished 1^st in Essex, 3^rd in the Region and qualified for the national championships Isabella Da Silva (13-14) won county and regional gold medals.
