A NEW FA Referee Course, exclusively for women and girls, is taking place this August at Chelmer Valley High School in Chelmsford, aiming to increase female participation in refereeing and supporting a more diverse and inclusive grassroots football community across Essex.
The Essex County FA course is designed to introduce the essential skills and knowledge needed to become a qualified match official. Participants will gain valuable experience and confidence to officiate games at grassroots level.

The County FA are committed to developing a welcoming pathway into refereeing for women and girls of all ages and backgrounds. This course is part of ongoing efforts to grow a more inclusive referee community which reflects the diversity of the modern game. Aspiring referees can secure their spot subject to availability, as places are limited and are expected to fill quickly.
