Once again, the Scouts delivered an outstanding programme, providing young people with the chance to make friends, try different challenges, and enjoy the summer holidays in a safe and welcoming environment. Their commitment to the Playscheme is a shining example of how volunteering can make a real difference in the lives of local families.
The Arts & Crafts Tent was a constant hub of activity. Children threw themselves into this year’s Pirates theme, painting ships, creating masks, and designing their own characters — all while enjoying a break from iPads and computers, and discovering the joy of hands-on creativity.

Dave Barton, founder of Get Started Art, said:
“We are proud to support the local Scouts and the brilliant work they do in the community. The Playscheme is a fantastic example of how volunteering can transform young lives, and it’s a privilege for Get Started Art to play a part in making it such a success.”
This is not the first time Get Started Art and the Scouts have worked together, and both organisations share a strong commitment to giving children the chance to express themselves, build confidence, and enjoy positive opportunities away from screens.
