THE Essex County FA are hosting an FA Futsal Referee Course in September on Saturday 13th September (10:00am-5:00pm) at James Hornsby School in Basildon, with bookings still open online for new applicants.
Futsal is FIFA’s official version of small-sided football – a high-tempo, five-a-side, indoor game played on a smaller court with fewer players. The format is designed to sharpen technical skills, speed of play and decision-making, making it one of the fastest-growing variations of the sport worldwide. Refereeing Futsal brings its own unique challenges, and this course is designed to give new and developing referees the knowledge and confidence to officiate effectively.
Before attending, learners are required to complete the ‘Guide to the Futsal Laws of the Game’ online learning module, available via the Essex County FA website. The cost of the course is £70, and spaces are available to book now.
