Aveley 2 v 0 Wingate and Finchley
AN Aveley team unbeaten in ten games welcomed Wingate & Finchley, who hadn’t lost a league game since the 6th of September, a run stretching back ten league games, with their last away defeat coming even further back in the middle of August reports Jamie Manktelow.
It was an end-to-end game as expected, with these two sides combining for 34 goals scored in their last six games. But the first half saw both defences come out on top. The visitors’ first chance of the game fell to Caoilan McGettigan, who ran through the middle of the pitch before striking at the Aveley goal, but it was well saved by Joe Wright.
