BASILDON Council is pleased to announce that it has commissioned a procurement to deliver a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Social Value Monitoring Platform. The appointment will follow a full and competitive quotation process, with further details on the selected provider to be released in due course.
As the largest economy in Essex, home to major employers and a thriving business base, Basildon has enormous potential to leverage the positive work of its private sector; this new platform will enable the council to better recognise and coordinate those contributions while connecting community and voluntary organisations to more targeted support and opportunities, ensuring the borough’s economic strength translates into meaningful local impact.
This initiative marks an important step in strengthening the council’s ability to monitor and enhance social value activities across the borough. The one-year‑ pilot programme has been funded through UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) monies, external funding provided to the council by HM Government.
Cllr Jessica Power, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Jobs and Skills for Basildon Council said:
“This new platform will help us build stronger, more transparent links between businesses, community organisations and the wider voluntary sector. By improving how we capture and monitor social value across the borough, we can ensure that investment and support stay here in Basildon and directed where they have the most impact.”
The pilot will run for one year, during which the council will review the platform’s effectiveness in improving local engagement, supporting voluntary sector capacity, and fostering meaningful corporate social responsibility across Basildon.
