c2c has today launched ‘take the train to the game’, an initiative designed to ensure Southend United fans travelling to Wembley Stadium for the club’s FA Trophy Final (Sunday 17 May) have access to all the latest matchday travel and ticketing information.

The c2c-sponsored Shrimpers face Wealdstone at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 17 May (16:30 kick-off). To support the thousands of fans expected to travel from south Essex, c2c will be operating longer trains across the network wherever possible.

c2c has also confirmed there will be two services per hour on each of the following routes:

Shoeburyness to Liverpool Street via Basildon
Shoeburyness to Liverpool Street via Rainham
Upminster to Grays (shuttle service)
Greater Anglia will also operate longer trains from Southend Victoria to London Liverpool Street. Further information is available at greateranglia.co.uk.

Commenting, c2c’s Managing Director, Rob Mullen, said:

“We are delighted to see Southend United return to Wembley Stadium for the FA Trophy Final, and everyone at c2c wishes them the very best of luck against Wealdstone.

“As ever, the safety of our passengers remains our top priority. To ensure all supporters can travel safely and comfortably, we are strengthening services throughout the day by operating longer trains wherever possible.”

On Sunday 17 May, all c2c services will run into and out of London Liverpool Street station, enabling supporters to connect easily with London Underground and Overground services for onward travel to Wembley Stadium.
