THE leader of Thurrock Labour has slammed plans to close Orsett Hospital in the light of a report that the plans for health hubs set to replace are in jeopardy.
Cllr John Kent said; “We were told by those who want to close Orsett Hospital that the Integrated Medical Centres were fully thought through and ready to go. We now know that is not the case.
These issues should have been fully addressed before they took the decision to close the hospital.
“In light of the issues raised in this report it is irresponsible to push ahead with closing Orsett Hospital and they should revisit their decision as a matter of urgency.”
