THURROCK does have an arts scene. You just have to dig around a little bit to find it. Last weekend in the community house in Southend Road, Corringham, a group of artists gathered together to exhibit art, recite poetry and discuss all matters cerebral in a convivial atmosphere.
Our film concentrates on a poetry recital by Steve Lawton. It is a wonderful poem. Multi-layered and thought-provoking. This is what a thriving arts scene looks like. Now, all Thurrock has to do is put it all together.
