LAST year, I’m a Celebrity Star and South Ockendon resident, David Van Day appeared in pantomime in Arbroath.
David had a good time in the scottish town, playing the wicked Abanazar in Theatre Productions Ltd (TPL) production of Aladdin.
As reported recently, TPL are set to broaden their panto horizons by putting on seventeen shows at the Blackshots Civic Hall this christmas.
Clearly, this hasn’t gone down too well with Bruce James Productions (BJP) who (traditionally) have been the one and only panto in town.
In recent years, BJP have fought off losing their star, Damian Williams to Sky TV; have fought off staff from the Orchard Theatre in Dartford leafleting in the borough and have fought off the recession with sales booming last year.
Now, BJP are set to add another pantomime to their portfolio and the location: Arbroath!
It may seem like a remarkable co-incidence that both companies are putting on pantomimes 517 mile apart in Arbroath and Thurrock.
A spokesperson for BJP said: “We have many shows that run throughout the year in a diverse number of locations. We can confirm that we will also be putting on Snow White at the Webster Theatre in Arbroath.
