
A CRASH described as ‘serious’ by officers at the scene caused the closure of Stifford Road at the Mardyke bridge this morning (Tuesday, 26 July).
Traffic, including buses, were diverted and significant disruption and congestion in the area occurred.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area.
A statement from Essex Police says: “We were called to Stifford Hill at around 4:30am this morning following reports of a collision involving two vehicles. The fire service were also in attendance and both drivers were taken to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing”.
