ST. Luke’s Hospice is calling on the local community to get their walking shoes on for the charity’s annual sponsored walk, the St. Luke’s Loop.
Taking place on Sunday 6th October, the walk will start and finish at the charity’s Basildon Hospice. The 7.3 mile route loops to take in Langdon Hills Country Park, rambling through the flower-rich grasslands and ancient woodlands.

Register online today at www.stlukeshospice.com/st-lukes-loop. Registration fee is £10 per person (£15 on the day). Children under 5 years old are free to enter but must be accompanied by an adult.
Kerry Chambers, Community and Events Fundraising Manager, said: “Whether you are walking by yourself or with friends, family and loved ones, everyone is welcome to join us on the St. Luke’s Loop. By taking part you will be helping to raise funds for St. Luke’s Hospice so every step really will count.”
All funds raised from St. Luke’s Loop will help St. Luke’s Hospice to ensure the ongoing provision of specialist, compassionate palliative and end of life care, where and when it is most needed.
Online registration closes at 5pm on Wednesday 2nd October. All walkers will receive an exclusive wooden medal made from Poplar Plywood or Birch Plywood which are PEFC and FSC certified respectively, meaning the wood is from sustainably managed forests and controlled sources, ensuring an eco-friendly approach from start to finish.

Footpaths at One Tree Hill are less accessible than those at Westley Heights, and are not recommended for users of wheelchairs, mobility scooters of other mobility aids.
