THANKS to Chigwell Roads Policing officers, a man has been arrested in connection with copper cable theft.
Whilst on routine patrols, officers from Chigwell Roads Policing Unit spotted a taxi van that aroused their suspicions and requested the driver to stop on A13 at Stanford-le-Hope shortly after 11.50pm on Friday 4 October.
When officers looked in the rear of the vehicle, they located a large amount of heavy duty copper cable, where the missing seats should have been.

A 39-year-old man from Belvedere, Kent, was arrested on suspicion of theft.
Cable thefts cause business costs to escalate when they have expensive items stolen and have to replace them. The cost is then passed on to the customer, so it’s imperative that we patrol our county’s roads for those who use them to commit crime and to attempt to evade arrest.
The man has been released on bail whilst we carry out our enquiries.
