THURROCK MP Jen Craft has responded to news regarding her government giving planning permission for a new Lower Thames Crossing.

Ms Craft said: “I am obviously disappointed by today’s decision. I still have concerns around the disruption this scheme will cause to local residents and the impact on air quality in the area.
“I fully recognise that congestion at the Dartford Crossing is causing misery for drivers, but building more roads is not the answer. I still believe that alternatives such as investment in cross river public transport would provide a more sustainable solution.
“Now we have certainty about the future of the project, I will be working to make the best of it for my constituents. Local people must see benefits in jobs and opportunities to mitigate the additional burden they are now being asked to shoulder. I will be fighting to secure new investment in our local public transport infrastructure as part of the scheme.”

So what comes with a new road more house’s industrial buildings, who pays the price us the the people of Thurrock also the wild life. More green belt lost more pollution but the government don’t care they don’t have to put up with the disruption to are life’s.
Well for once she speaks for me
What a real shame this destructive and unsustainable lower Thames crossing has been given the go-ahead. I don’t drive and a couple of years ago I visited the area by train and went for a walk 20 mile cycle ride in this beautiful area of green belt. What a huge disappointment its going to have an ugly lump of concrete and noisy machines going through it now. If the Conservatives hadn’t given out millions upon millions of visas to immigrants over the past 10 years there would be a lot less traffic and no need to build this horrible thing. And perhaps traffic constantly curing up to pay the toll on the Dartford bridge is one of the reasons for the congestion. If this new road is going to be paid for by the private sector and drivers using the new road will have to pay by stopping to qué at another toll causing tailbacks and congestion just as Dartford bridge. If our population keeps on rising and rising through mass immigration there will be no end to the problems with traffic and housing pressure. Given that we have possibly let in around 5 million extra people over the past 7 to 10 years the government really needs to consider putting in a moratorium on any more immigration for at least the next five years.

This government don’t listen they are ignorant they can’t tell the true so what hope have you got None.
I feel for you but having seen how this government work you have little to no hope
A new road, new housing alongside that new road would obviously work for council and government.
Thousands of houses north and south of the A13, new homes in Orsett, Chadwell St Mary, Stanford le Hope, East Tilbury. That’s just the start, Chelmsford and all over Essex, the expansion of London, the moving of Tennant’s in London councils to Essex land bought by London councils will bring no benefits to the local population.
