A TENANT of Basildon Council has been evicted following repeated breaches of a court-issued injunction relating to ongoing anti-social behaviour, including abusive conduct and noise nuisance.
The eviction, which took place on Tuesday 29 July, follows a long-standing legal process during which the council secured a court injunction in response to the tenant’s unacceptable behaviour. Despite multiple offers of support from the council’s Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) team, the individual failed to comply with the injunction and continued to disrupt the community.

After numerous breaches and repeated court interventions, the council was granted a possession order, allowing it to take back the property.
Councillor Kerry Smith, Cabinet Member for Law, Order & Enforcement, praised the outcome, which marks the second eviction of its kind in as many weeks:
“We are taking a firm stance against anti-social behaviour in all its forms. Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected in their neighbourhoods, and we are committed to protecting the quality of life for our residents.
“A council home is a privilege, not a right. When tenants fail to uphold the terms of their tenancy agreement – despite support and multiple chances – we will take necessary action to safeguard our communities.
“Our officers work hard to offer help and resolve issues, but persistent breaches only drain time and public resources. I thank our team for their determination in seeing this case through.”
