BASILDON Council has successfully obtained civil injunctions against three families and their visitors following multiple reports of serious anti-social behaviour on the Felmores Estate.

Residents raised concerns with the Council’s Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) team about ongoing disruptive and threatening behaviour, including excessive noise, shouting, swearing, physical altercations involving weapons, and suspected drug – related activity.

These incidents had a significant negative impact on the wellbeing and safety of other residents, many of whom reported feeling unsafe in their own homes.

In collaboration with Essex Police, the Council’s ASB officers took decisive legal action to protect the community. The civil injunctions were over a two-week period and impose strict conditions on the individuals involved and their visitors.

Councillor Kerry Smith, Cabinet Member for Law, Order & Enforcement, welcomed the court’s decision and said:

“We are committed to making our communities safer and ensuring residents feel secure in their homes and neighbourhoods. This action sends a clear message – anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated in Basildon.

“These injunctions place firm restrictions on the behaviour of those involved. Any breach could lead to further legal consequences, including fines, imprisonment, or even eviction.

“Basildon Council will continue to support residents and take strong action against those who threaten the peace and safety of our communities.”

We encourage anyone who experiences anti-social behaviour in Basildon Borough to report it via the council’s website - Report Anti-Social Behaviour – Basildon
