BASILDON Council’s Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Team has ramped up its efforts to tackle disruptive behaviour across the borough, taking 377 enforcement actions in the past year — a 69.8% increase compared to the previous 12 months.

The team continues to adopt a balanced approach, combining strong enforcement with early intervention to prevent issues from escalating. Early intervention work — which includes engaging with residents and resolving problems before they become serious — has also risen by 66.4% over the same period.

Councillor Kerry Smith, Cabinet Member for Law, Order & Enforcement, praised the team’s efforts, saying:

“Everyone in Basildon has the right to feel safe and secure in their home and community. We will not tolerate behaviour that disrupts lives or puts others at risk.

“Our Anti-Social Behaviour Team is doing an outstanding job – from early engagement through to securing convictions or evictions where necessary. Their work is crucial in making Basildon a safer place for all.”

Residents who wish to report incidents of anti-social behaviour can do so via the council’s website: basildon.gov.uk/article/3662/Report-Anti-Social-Behaviour
