ESSEX-based children’s mental health charity Kids Inspire is taking part in this year’s Big Give Christmas Challenge, the UK’s biggest match-funding campaign. Between midday on Tuesday 2 December and midday on Tuesday 9 December, every donation made through our dedicated campaign page will be doubled. Your gift will have twice the impact.

Thanks to generous pledgers and support from The Scouloudi Foundation, Kids Inspire has secured £7,000 in match funding. We now aim to raise a further £7,000 in online donations during the campaign week to unlock the full total of £14,000. These funds will help make Christmas brighter for children and families who might otherwise go without.

The money raised will support Kids Inspire’s Christmas Appeal now in its 16th year, which provides gifts and food hampers to families facing hardship across Essex. So far, we have received nearly 3000 nominations; we know the need is great.

Paula Ashfield, Head of Fundraising at Kids Inspire, said:

“Every year, we see just how much difference a small act of kindness can make. For many of the families we support, Christmas can be an incredibly difficult time but thanks to our wonderful donors, we can bring a little bit of joy and relief when it’s needed most. During the Big Give week, every pound donated is doubled, so your generosity can go twice as far to help ensure no child wakes up without a gift this Christmas.”

Kids Inspire supports children and young people recovering from trauma or dealing with emerging mental health difficulties, alongside their parents and carers. With demand for support continuing to rise, campaigns like this help the charity reach more families in need of both emotional and practical help.
