A MAN has been arrested following a collision on the slip road for the A127 in Basildon last night (1 January).
We had been called to reports of a blue Ford Fiesta having been stolen from an address in Broadhurst Place, Basildon shortly after 8.55pm.

Officers responded and located the vehicle on the A127 near Rayleigh, and it failed to stop when directed.
A pursuit was authorised and officers followed the car before it was then in collision with a barrier on the slip road.
A 20 year-old man from Tilbury was subsequently arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, theft of a motor vehicle, and going equipped.
He is currently in custody.
