GOING OVER to play on the swings was is and should be a key memory for any child so it is good to see the opening of another playground in Thurrock.

This time it is in Orsett. Deputy leader Val Morris-Cook, Orsett councillors Diane and Mike Revell and chair of Veoila Mardyke Trust, Charlie Curtis as well as plenty of children came together to officially open the playground.

  1. Not one word of thanks, to any of the orsett residents who put the effort in, from the ward councillors! It was an up hill battle all the way… HUGE Thanks & respect to those involved – its been a long time coming…! Funny how those hardly involved turn up when the cameras are out filming… if only the support was there when we needed it!!!! May our kids have many years of joy using this playground :o)

  2. mjmac, it sounds like yet another PR/Photo Opportunity from the councillors, they will take the credit for everything without mention to those who really do the work.

  3. Happy Play times – Play Builder and Waste Grants are transforming parks that have been derelict in some cases for years.
If you are in Little Thurrock please visit Delafield Road Open space. Congrats to all those in Orsett who pushed to get playground equipment through the admin and cuts. Safe Play leads to Happy Children and fond memories for the future.
