SOUTH BASILDON and East Thurrock MP, Stephen Metcalfe rose on the floor of the house to discuss the costs of a university education.
Mr Metcalfe said: “Will my right hon. Friend the Minister join me in reassuring my constituents that, unlike the views of the Opposition, under our scheme a top-quality university degree will actually cost them only £30 a month when they are earning £25,000 a year?
David Willetts (Minister of State (Universities and Science), Business, Innovation and Skills; Havant, Conservative) replied:
“I entirely agree. Indeed, that figure on earnings of £25,000 a year contrasts with payments of £75 a month under the arrangements we inherited from the Labour Government.”

Quite right, all very affordable. It makes me smile that lefties scream blue murder about the cost of these loans, I wonder how many of them happily pay that out kind of money every month for a mobile phone contract?
£9k plus digs and beer money per year for three years. Don’t spin It any other way.
