Update: 1300 hrs
A MAN WAS ARRESTED after keeping the police at bay for two hours in Grays this morning.
Police were called to the offices of the Inland Revenue in Crown Road, Grays at 10.40 hrs this morning after reports that a man in a highly agitated state and armed with a knife was threatening to self harm.
There were several police vehicles as well as an ambulance in attendance.
A police negotiator attended at 1130 hours.
The man was brought out of the offices at just before 1pm.
