THE Little Havens Hospice “Donation Station Roadshow” is making a stop at Sainsbury’s in Chafford Hundred later this month and wants shoppers to bring along their unwanted goods to give to the charity.

Shoppers at the Sainsbury’s store in Howard Road, Chafford Hundred will be greeted by a classic 1950’s red Routemaster double decker open top bus on Sunday 24th June. Following on from it’s successful appearance at Sainsbury’s Stores’ in Basildon, Brentwood and Chelmsford, the bus will be parked in the car park from 9.30am until 2pm.

Shoppers are being encouraged to dig out their unwanted clothes, toys, books, DVD’s and other saleable items and bring them along to the special “donation station” that will be set up on the day. Collected items will then be sold through the Little Havens charity shops to raise vital funds for the hospice.

Little Havens Community Fundraiser Peter Hall said, “We’d like to say a big thank you to our local Sainsbury’s stores for supporting us, and hosting our road show. We had such a good response to our Brentwood Roadshow, with shoppers popping home to bag up their things for us that we’re doing it all over again in Basildon. I’ll be there on the day with a team of volunteers so people can find out more about the hospice, who we care for and how much we need the local community to support us.”

Sainsbury’s Chafford Hundred Store Manager Mike Agha says, “We’re delighted to host the roadshow and I just want to remind shoppers to bring their donations along before their weekly shop and help us raise as much money as possible for Little Havens.”
