Thurrock 0 v 3 Bury
Looking to put behind them the opening game of the season Manager Mark Stimson made three changes to his starting line up, hoping to seal up a leaking defence.
But it was the visitors who opened the scoring in the 18th minute, a corner from the left was floated over to the far post, as Thurrock failed to clear the ball fell to Bury Skipper Tom Bullard who tucked
the ball home from close range.
Bury extended their lead in the 38th minute, a free kick given away some 25 yards out from the Thurrock goal and fairly central was paced neatly into the corner of the net by Billy Clark.
HT 0-2
In the second half Bury seemed content with the two goal lead and at times had all ten men behind the ball happy not to move into the Thurrock half.
With the extra space Thurrock pushed forward and had the greater possession but failed to threaten the Bury goal.
In the last few minutes the ball was punted forward the bounce eluding Jefferies at the back allowing Alicion Blake to run onto the ball and place it wide of keeper Hughes for the third goal.
Its looking to be another tough season for Thurrock two games over the bank holiday weekend should tell us more.
