THE PEGASUS club in Corringham has been put up for sale.
The Herd Lane club has been advertised on the website for GVA, a leading commercial real estate service.
The future of the club has been thrown into doubt after the demise of Petroplus last year.
The property is advertised as being a:
Sports Club for Sale with Extensive Grounds
– Substantial sports club located 3 km (2 miles) from Basildon
– Site area of approximately 8.9 hectares (22 acres)
– Club house extending to approximately 1,394 sq m (15,000 sq ft)
– Facilities include football, rugby and cricket pitches, fishing lakes, crown green bowls area and tennis courts.
The property extends to approximately 8.9 hectares (22acres) in total and has a significant range of facilities on site.
Among the organisations that have expressed an interest is East Thurrock United football club.
A spokesperson said: “The club is still interested and we have been speaking to the estate agents.
“However, this is a lengthy process which will require a degree of patience.”
