A PRE-school in Bulphan has been put into special measures.

Government watchdog, Ofsted inspected the school based in Church Road, Bulphan on June 4th.

They have made the following observations.

    1. Teaching is inadequate. The staff have a poor understanding of the importance of effective deployment, engagement and the use of effective questioning with children. Therefore, children are not encouraged to take part in challenging learning opportunities to support their progress in all the areas of learning, particularly more- able children.

    2. Children’s behaviour is inconsistently managed, resulting in accidents and unclear messages from staff, therefore, children do not learn about appropriate behaviour.

    3. Children are not always appropriately safeguarded. Accidents are not always recorded and parents are not always being informed of incidents and accidents.

    4. Parents are not fully engaged in their children’s learning because staff do not always encourage them to share children’s experiences from home.

    5. Children’s independent creativity is not adequately promoted to support their growing imagination and natural curiosity.

YT has made contact with the pre-school but they had not replied at the time of publication.
