Thurrock 80 all out
Hatfield Peverel 81-5
Thurrock slumped to defeat at home to Hatfield Peverel by five wickets.
The batting has been Thurrock’s main problem this season, and once again the batsmen failed to get a good score on the board. Only three of the batting line-up reached double figures as the home side were all out for just 80 runs in the 31st over. The top score of 19 was made by Nick Henry, while Matthew Wild did most of the damage for the visitors, taking four Thurrock victims from his 12 overs.
In reply, Umaad Sultan (1-17) and Harry Morgan-James (2-17) got some early breakthroughs but Danny McIntyre steadied the ship for the visitors with a knock of 31 as they cruised to victory with five wickets in hand. Clarke Wren and Daniel Laird took the other wickets to fall but Tom MacKenzie (18*) and Tim Phillips (11*) sealed the game for Hatfield Peverel as they complete a league double over Thurrock this season.
