IT HAS been a while now since we have reported on the solve rates for burglaries in Thurrock.
In our previous stories, we have pointed out that the solve rate in Thurrock has been close to zero.
We have heard a lot of imaginative responses to this.
The police have told us that the recording of burglaries is down.
So we went back to the statistics. In August, there were 106 burglaries in Thurrock. Only two have been solved. One in Purfleet and one in Tilbury. The one in Purfleet (Rapier Close) had no action taken as it was "Not in the public interest."
