IT there was any doubts that Thurrock were promotion contenders then this 5-1 victory at Ship Lane should have dispelled any doubts.
Thurrock struck in the first half with goals by Michael Toner (11′) and Charlie Stimson (12′) in quick succession.
But Sudbury also have promotion hopes and so hit back through Ben Robinson in the 48th minute.
But Thurrock really showed their class with goals by Lewwis Spence (49′), Jordan Clark (pen 61′) and Joe Christou (79′).
The result puts Thurrock in fifth place with a few games in hand.
They return to action, again at home, against Maldon and Tiptree on Tuesday night at Ship Lane.
