STANFORD Councillor, Shane Hebb, has welcomed the final sign-off of funds to install access control at the entrance of Rainbow Lane, Stanford-le-Hope, following years of illegal fly tipping in the area.

"I am chuffed to bits that after lobbying the council, that £15000 is to be allocated to designing a access control solution for Rainbow Lane in Stanford", remarks Cllr Shane Hebb. "Like many I get sick to the back teeth of people using Stanford as a dumping ground. It’s not fair!".

Rainbow Lane has suffered with years of fly tipping activity. In what is arguably one of the more attractive footpaths for walkers, it has become a never-ending dumping ground.

"Provided we retain pedestrian access to the riverfront, the desire to restrict vehicle access will help prevent illegal fly tipping down the lane in the future. I welcome the budget allocation and thank those who have helped to make this happen".
