THURROCK resident, Mr Peter Perrin appeared on the BBC this morning (Tuesday) and made an appeal to the government on behalf of the "Grey Vote".

Mr Perrin (82) said: "Stop making me feel bad for being 82.

"I have to use a range of facilities as is my right. I have to live on a pension as is my right. Sometimes, we are made to feel like an inconvenience.

Mr Perrin was a member of a panel of voters on the Victoria Derbyshire programme, all over 65, who are politically engaged.

Mr Perrin, who had been a long time member of the Labour Party until recently went on to explain that he was concerned about uncontrolled immigration and that had made him swither between Labour and UKIP.

After a slow start, Mr Perrin had plenty to say on the programme on a number of issues.

Callers rang in,including Veronica from Norwich, and agreed with what Peter had to say about the NHS.

Last week, Conservative supporter, Abbie Maguire appeared on the programme to discuss the teenage vote.
