THE Horndon-on-the-Hill Feast and Fayre takes place in the village this coming weekend (June 27th/28th) and will celebrate the 800th anniversary of the signing of the Magna Carta with a feast of music and traditional entertainment.
As ever, the streets will be lined with craft stalls and charity teams keen to make the event a happy and memorable event for all ages.
On Sunday 28th the annual Horndon 10Krun, organised by the Rotary Club of
Thurrock Gateway, is set for another record entry and promises to give spectators a colourful and inspiring spectacle.
Highlights of the weekend will include ‘Music Through the Ages’ with performers charting the history of music, street performances from Palmers sixth form college, Wandering Minstrels, a traditional harpist and the annual tug of war contest between the two village pubs The Swan and the Bell.
The annual flower display centred on the ‘Magna Carta and Music Through The Ages’ themes in Horndon’s St Peter and St Paul Parish Church will once again be a magnificent spectacle and an assortment of choral and musical performers in the Church will give attendees the chance to enjoy some peace and tranquillity during the course of the weekend.
