Depression Day

There was a time when depression was simply countered by either “Just Keep Busy” or incarceration.

We still have some way to go as illustrated by former England cricketer, Marcus Trescothick’s testimony as he struggled with anxiety.

The stats speak for themselves: 16% of the UK workforce have a depressive illness, 8% have a serious one. That is life and as the recession bites hard, the services to help, are needed more than ever before.

The conference organised by Myles Cook helped to highlight the issues that arise from depression with the assistance of several key agencies around the borough.
