The new breed of Thurrock Councillors are an interesting breed of politican and quite a contrast in styles. West Thurrock and South Stifford Councillor Oliver Gerrish is a thoughtful academic young man who understands that the political landscapes most important place starts at the grass roots.
We caught up with Oliver as he worked with the Community Payback team to assess his year so far.
