Veterans of conflicts spanning seventy years joined together to recognise Armed Forces Day outside Thurrock Council offices on monday morning.
In bright sunshine, the ceremony was led by Mayor Maureen Pearce, Rev Andy Higgs and Andrew Mackinlay MP.
It was a poignant sight to see veteran of the Burma Campaign such as Alf England and the Far East Association standing side by side with the family of Lance Corporal Nicky Mason, who fell last year in Afghanistan.
