Thurrock have secured the services of 19 year old keeper Joe Woolley, Joe started his career with Charlton serving a long apprenticeship from a young age. When he was released at the beginning of last season 0809 he spent a short while at Grays before making the short trip along the A13 to Ship Lane.
He joined Thurrock on a non-contract basis making his debut at Braintree Town on 21st October 2008 in a valuable 2-1 victory for the Fleet, he continued to fill the position as Thurrock’s No1 through to the end of the season and was named as Clubman of the season at Thurrock end of season awards presentation.
Joe is looking forward to a better season for the Fleet and feels that their lowly position last season did not represent the actual performances on the pitch.
