Lakeside Hammers were tagged back in the last race of the night to draw with the Poole Pirates at Arena Essex last night.
Leading 44-40 going into the final race, Hammers were confident of holding the Pirates at bay but Bjarne Pedersen had other plans and rode a storming last leg, ably backed by Chris Holder to give them the vital final five points. Hammer Lee Richardson trailed in a disappointing last.
