A disused Bulphan village pub has been severely damaged in a suspicious fire.
A joint police and fire service inquiry has been opened to establish the cause of the fire at the Harrow Inn in Fen Lane in Bulphan.
Four fire engines were called to the blaze in the early hours of Saturday and the officer in charge said it was “100% well alight”.
A search of the premises was made later and crews said everyone had been accounted for.
“Firefighting operations were being hindered by low water pressure and relief crews were called in after about three hours,” a spokesman said.
yet another.
add this to the likes of Mucking Hall.
what should be looked into is who is looking to buy the place or build on the site.
Whats next? The State?
I think its about time our local papers start reporting the facts that are going on in the area and not stop sucking up to others.
there is so much crime in Thurrock that is never reported, if you pick up the loacl paper you would feel that you are living in a paradise.
Well from my own information the restaurant on the site not the pub was set alight, the land is up for sale yet nobody has met the asking price as the yet, the stupid thing is that little yobs have been breaking in, graffitting and robbing from the buildings since they closed down yet the police have just told the owners to ‘deal with it’ even when people have been caught trespassing, sad to see the state of it all now though
