A testimonial match for Fabian Wilnes, a long term Ipswich Town player. He played out his last season for Grays Athletic.
A few Grays supporters made the short journey up the A12 to show their support and thank him for his time at Grays – a joy to watch.
The game took place at Potman Road home of the Witches, where they played Colchester United. The final outcome was a 2-0 win for Ipswich, but the result was immaterial, it was a fitting farewell to a gentleman of football, not too many of them left.
