OLYMPIC Paralympic Champion Danny Crates retired from competitive athletics last night with a fine run at Crystal Palace.
The high point of Danny’s career was winning the gold medal for the 800 metres at the Athens Olympics in 2004 but injuries have hampered his career in recent years. Last night he finished third in 1.57.28 in a meet that also featured Usain Bolt and Tyson Gay.
Danny will continue his fine work as a motivational speaker.
