Man Electrocuted at Stanford Rail-line

A MAN has suffered burns following an electric shock in Stanford Le Hope.

Reports came in to the ambulance service on Monday night (August 10) that a man had been electrocuted on the railway line close to allotments in Lower Crescent, Linford.

The service was called at about 8.35pm, and a crew were on scene in five minutes, backed up by a duty operations manager.

The 29-year-old man had severe burns to his torso, back and arm. He was alerted into Basildon Hospital, so that a trauma team was on standby.

An ambulance spokeswoman added: “As much care was given at the scene as possible, and the patient was in hospital within half an hour of the initial 999 call coming in to the service.”
