Thurrock is full of inspiring people making remarkable improvements to our borough, and those at Second Generation are prime examples. Founded through the Thurrock Re-Use Project (TRUP), Second Generation is a charity based organisation which specialises in the re-use of furniture, electrical goods and much more.
Their mission is simply to ‘improve lives-decreasing waste everyday’. How we can help them meet their mission is even simpler. Rather than just letting our unwanted belongings vegetate in an unsightly dumping ground, Second Generation’s warehouse in East Tilbury, provides us with a place to donate these possessions, so that they can await a new lease of life in the homes of others.
Teaming up with the leading energy supplier, E-ON, their latest initiative to improve our community and our environment is by distributing free energy saving light bulbs to households across Thurrock throughout August. What a bright idea!
