A TILBURY man was jailed for six months yesterday after a frenzied attack in a Tilbury shop which left a pregnant woman injured.
Grays magistrates court heard that at 9.40 pm on the 6th July, James Grays, 19, Elgar Gardens, Tilbury entered the Spar shop in Calcutta Road, Tilbury in a drunken state.
He subjected staff to a torrent abuse calling the Nigerian security guard a “Black C***” before throwing baskets around the shop, one of which hit a pregnant woman leaving her with cuts. She did not require hospital treatment.
Chair of the magistrates, Mrs Hunter sentenced Grays to six months at a Young Offenders Institute.
