Firefighters in Essex have started a ban on overtime and rest-day working.
The industrial action is over plans by the county’s fire authority to cut jobs and a number of other changes, said the Fire Brigades Union (FBU).
Last month union members voted 79% in favour of industrial action but stopped short of an all-out strike.
Essex Fire Authority said it wanted to reassure the public that despite the overtime ban there would still be the same response to 999 calls.
