Tilbury lost to Maldon Town by a single goal scored by Joe Collins in the 2nd minute of the game on Saturday, the lively striker found a yard of space on the edge of the box before picking his spot and driving the ball into the net.
The Dockers pressed hard throughout the 90 minutes’ but were met by a resilient Maldon defence that stood-up to a constant bombardment of attacks by the travelling Tilbury men.
Chris Stowe back from suspension come on in the second half, the bustling striker looked sharp as he battled alongside Tilbury’s new signing Kayan Kalipha, but their efforts were in vain as the Maldon defence kept the Dockers at bay.
Graham Chester & Tony Leary could be heard from the touch-line encouraging every move forward and both looked bewildered at the end of the game on what only can be described as a frustrating afternoon for Tilbury men.
The Dockers next game is away to Great Wakering Rovers on Saturday 12th September – Kick off at 3pm.
